Daily Recovery Reading – September 19, 2025 – Staying Connected
Recovery is stronger when you stay connected. Isolation feeds old habits and doubts. Connection brings support, hope, and accountability.
Make a call. Text a friend. Go to a meeting. Share honestly. Each small act of connection helps you grow and feel less alone.
Connection also strengthens self-respect. When you reach out, you give and receive trust. This builds a community around your healing.
Daily Practice
I will reach out to one person who supports my recovery today.
Prompt for Readers
Who can I connect with today to support my recovery?
How does reaching out help me feel stronger in my recovery?
Outcome / Personal Reflection
For me, talking to at least three people a day in recovery reminds me that I am not alone. My mind can still try to convince me that my struggles are unique, but every time I share honestly, I hear others have faced the same challenges and found solutions. If I go too long without connecting, I fall into pity and irrational thoughts, often centered around loneliness. I’ve learned the value of balance—sometimes being the one who listens, and other times being the one who shares. Both roles keep me grounded. Over time, I’ve built strong relationships with people I can truly count on. Those connections, tested through ups and downs, continue to anchor my recovery and remind me that I don’t have to do this alone.
