PAFO
Pond Around and Find Out
This isn’t a recovery podcast in the traditional sense. It’s not therapy. It’s not education. It’s not meant to fix anyone. It’s just honest conversation among people who’ve lived enough life to know that taking things too seriously all the time is a fast track to losing your mind.
We’re not here to teach. We’re not here to inspire. We’re here to f*ck around, laugh when it’s appropriate (and sometimes when it’s not), and let conversations go where they go. If you find something meaningful in the mess, great. If you just enjoy hanging out for a bit, also great.
PAFO is recorded at Illinois Recovery Center in Swansea, Illinois, and drops when it drops. It’s loose by design, imperfect on purpose, and exactly what it’s supposed to be.
PAFO is the “let our hair down” side of the Pondoff’s Anonymous universe. It’s still rooted in real relationships and shared history, but this is where the guardrails come off a bit. No theme, no lesson plan, no promise that we land the plane. Sometimes we do. Sometimes we absolutely don’t. That’s kind of the point.
Hosted by Chris Pondoff, Jeff Allen, and Zoë Mendenall, PAFO is where we talk about whatever’s on our minds that week. Life, recovery-adjacent chaos, random observations, dumb ideas, things we probably shouldn’t say out loud but do anyway. And every now and then, we bring friends along for the ride. That’s the “Friends Of” part…because some conversations are better when more voices are in the room.
